Formed in 2000 and led by singer?songwriter Adam Turla, Murder by Death built a following with narrative, gothic-tinged songs and prominent cello arrangements. Early albums include Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them? (2003) and In Bocca al Lupo (2006), and the band has toured extensively across the U.S. and internationally. They are noted for cinematic storytelling and a long run of independent releases.
