About

Step into a concert experience that bridges centuries of music through reinvention, reflection, and atmosphere. Violinist and conductor Gabriel Lefkowitz leads a program centered around Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons and its contemporary reimagining by composer Max Richter.

The evening opens with Richter’s haunting On the Nature of Daylight and Arvo Pärt’s meditative Fratres, works that create a quiet, emotional landscape before Vivaldi’s beloved Four Seasons. Overflowing with vivid imagery and virtuosic violin writing, Vivaldi’s concertos remain some of the most recognizable and influential music ever written.

In the second half, Richter’s Recomposed: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons transforms the familiar work into something entirely new. Blending fragments of Vivaldi’s original score with minimalist repetition, electronic-inspired textures, and cinematic momentum, Richter creates a hypnotic reworking that has reached new audiences through film, television, and series including the Netflix original series, Bridgerton.

Presented in the intimate setting of The Brown, this program offers a striking exploration of how music evolves across generations while continuing to move audiences in new ways.
