Vivaldi & Beethoven

Led from the violin by Louisville Orchestra Concertmaster Gabriel Lefkowitz, the evening opens with Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, a vivid and instantly recognizable set of concertos that capture the sounds and sensations of nature with striking clarity and momentum. The program continues with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, a work that pushes beyond classical tradition with expanded scale, rhythmic drive, and flashes of the revolutionary voice Beethoven would soon unleash.
